Subscription Enquiries

A subscription at Iron Rice Bowl is any recurring commitment you make to us. The IRB Weekly newsletter is one. The Persistency Bundle's year-round seat is another. Active Companions Rewards Club membership is a third, even where no money changes hands.

Each subscription has its own cycle, its own cancellation window, and its own data trail. This page sets out the rules common to all of them.

A subscription begins on the day the first payment clears, or on the day we confirm a free subscription by email. The renewal date is recorded against your account and shown on your member dashboard.

Where a free trial is offered, the trial converts automatically into a paying subscription at the end of the trial unless cancelled before the end of the last trial day.

Paying subscriptions renew automatically at the start of each cycle, using the payment method on file. A reminder email is sent seven days before each renewal of a yearly subscription and two days before each renewal of a monthly subscription.

If a payment fails, we retry the charge twice in the following seven days. If the second retry fails, the subscription is paused. You receive an email asking you to update your payment method.

A subscription paused for non-payment for more than thirty days is closed, and access to the paid content is withdrawn.

You may cancel at any time from the member dashboard, or by writing to general.irb@protonmail.com. The cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid cycle. You keep access until that date.

We do not pro-rate the unused portion of a cycle. Where the law of Hong Kong gives you a stronger statutory right, the statutory right prevails.

Once a cancellation is recorded, no further charge is taken. Renewal reminders cease.

Paying subscriptions may be paused once per twelve-month period for up to sixty days. Write to us with your account email and the dates of the pause.

During a pause, billing is suspended and access to paid content is suspended. The cycle resumes from the pause-end date — it does not start a new cycle.

The IRB Weekly is a free email subscription. You may unsubscribe at any time using the link at the foot of each issue, or by writing to us.

An unsubscribe takes effect within forty-eight hours. Operational email tied to an active order, booking, or rewards account is not affected by an IRB Weekly unsubscribe.

We do not sell, rent, or share newsletter lists with any third party. The list is held only by us and the email provider that delivers the issue on our behalf.

Club membership begins when you sign in and is held against your email address. There is no recurring charge for Companion or Patron tier.

Membership can be closed at any time by writing to us. Closure forfeits any unredeemed points. Closure cannot be undone — a future sign-in re-opens a fresh account with a zero balance.

A membership inactive for twenty-four months may be archived. Archived points remain on record and can be reactivated on request, provided the account email is still under your control.

We may upgrade the content within a subscription at no extra charge. We may also change the price of a subscription with at least thirty days' notice to the email on file. A price change applies from the next renewal — never retrospectively.

If you do not accept a price change, you may cancel before the next renewal at no charge. Continued use after the change date is acceptance of the new price.

The cost of a subscription cycle that has already begun is non-refundable, save in the cases set out in the Returns and Refund Policy.

A duplicate charge raised in error is refunded in full. Write to us with both transaction references and we resolve it.

All subscription enquiries should be sent to general.irb@protonmail.com with the email address on the account and the subscription concerned. We acknowledge within two working days and resolve within five working days where the matter is within our control.

If a resolution cannot be agreed, you may bring the matter under the Terms and Conditions, which are governed by Hong Kong law.
